The Alliance for Children and Families administers the following programs:
McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Program
The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Program, in collaboration with Canton
City Schools, provides tutorial services to enhance the learning of homeless children
in the Alliance area, offers educational assessments, and gives homeless children the extra help to become better students.
S.T.E.P. - Steps to Emancipation Proficiency
S.T.E.P. is a collaboration between the Alliance for Children & Families,
the Stark County Department of Job and Family Services (DJFS), and the Aultman
Foundation. This program will help the youth in our Foster Care system
become more self-sufficient and help them prepare for their exit from foster
care. A-F.I.R.S.T. Capital Campaign
The Alliance for Children & Families Permanent Supportive Housing Project
will be a 10-unit campus-like community serving homeless families and
individuals, using a holistic approach that includes facilities for counseling,
education, training and medical and legal services. For more information, see

your check. Transitional Housing Program
The ACF Transitional Housing Program is designed to help participants obtain
and remain in transitional housing while developing skills and increasing income
in order to achieve greater levels of self sufficiency.
Eligible participants must:
- Must be homeless
- Meet income guidelines
- Currently be working
- Be willing to work toward self-sufficiency
Persons who have experienced homelessness are in signficant need of
vocational and-or employment training and support. Many are unemployed or
underemployed, subsisting on public entitlements. ACF Transitional Housing
helps with rent assistance for up to two years, along with providing
mentoring, case management, area agency referrals through collaboration and
networking, and other services as needed.

Homeless Prevention or Rapid Re-Housing
HPRP Funds Available
Are you or do you know a family who is renting and facing the possibility of
becoming evicted and homeless??? If so, there may be help available.
Qualifiers include, but are not limited to, income of 50% or less than the area median income,
eviction notice, behind in rent or utilities, residing in a shelter or with
friends/family. If you feel you need short-term help in order to get "back
